Jessica Ellis-Wilson, FACMPE

Jessica Ellis-Wilson, FACMPE is a Practice Management and Compliance consultant for the Firm. She is an accomplished consultant, speaker, and coach with 25 years of experience in the healthcare and nonprofit spaces. A Fellow of the American College of Medical Practice Executives, Jessica is a Past President of MA/RI Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), and is the Founder and Principal of the consulting firm Practical Management and Leadership Consulting. A former executive leader, Jessica has worked with community health centers, private practices, academic medical centers, public health agencies, and concierge groups, and now devotes her time to helping private practices succeed and speaking across the country on a variety of healthcare and leadership topics. She also organizes Board/Executive retreats and offers leadership consulting in such fields as executive coaching, organizational transformation, and cultural sensitivity.

Jessica is involved with every facet of practice management and offers counseling and education to medical practices on compliance, Human Resources, employment issues and disputes, staff structuring and training, and diversity/equity/inclusion. She also works collaboratively with Ms. Gallagher to envision and create medical practices from the ground up, promoting compliance, and educating staff to avoid future risks and to promote a healthy and productive work environment. The two women are regularly invited to speak nationally on these subjects and are often touted for their avant-garde, bold, and informative presentations.

Len Garza, Esquire

Len Garza serves as Of Counsel to the Firm. He and Ms. Gallagher have maintained a longstanding professional relationship since their days engaging in sophisticated medical malpractice defense of physicians and provide a collaborative approach toward physician advocacy. In addition to litigation, Len has extensive experience representing medical practices, healthcare entities, companies, business owners, and other stakeholders offering a wide variety of complex business and corporate services including entity formation, corporate governance, joint ventures, mergers & acquisitions, real estate transactions, sales, 501(c)(3) compliance and counseling, and more. Len routinely represents the firm’s clients in a broad range of commercial transactions, including the review, draft, and negotiation of a vast array of business agreements including those with shareholders, vendors, clients, partners, employees, and associates.

Len also counsels clients on estate planning matters, including the formation of trusts, wills and other structures, all designed to transfer assets to heirs and to charities in a tax-efficient manner that achieves the goals and respects the values of our clients.

Len serves as a Volunteer Advocacy Ambassador for Autism Speaks and is a member of the Board of Trustees for Enable, Inc., a non-profit provider of services, resources, and support for adults with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities in Central New Jersey.

Len is licensed to practice in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania and is admitted to all federal courts in the major metropolitan areas of those jurisdictions.

Nick Yanakas

Nick is a real estate specialist who caters to buyers and tenants in the healthcare sphere. Born and raised in northern New Jersey, he began his career working with healthcare providers at Henry Schein as a Territory Manager, helping dentists with their supply and equipment needs. After a few years there, he made the transition over to CARR where he works with practitioners across the healthcare spectrum as a tenant and buyer agent taking clients through a systematic and comprehensive process to ensure they select the right property for their needs and receive the best terms the market will bear. He also assists the firm’s clientele in saving money typically left on the table in lease renewals. In his spare time, Nick enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family, and golfing. Blair R. Zwillman, Esquire

Blair R. Zwillman serves as Of Counsel to the Firm and has over 40 years of experience with the criminal justice system. After serving as a Law Clerk to Superior Court Judge Joseph M. Thuring in Hudson County, he became a Deputy Attorney General in the Division of Criminal Justice, a section of the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office, where he prosecuted cases. In 1979, Blair left state service and began the private practice of criminal law, with his primary goal to assist and defend those charged with crime.

Blair is well regarded by his peers and is a frequent contributor to legal publications. He has successfully defended those charged with both white collar crimes and all other crimes. His practice includes federal court matters nationwide, New Jersey state matters, public agency cases, and municipal case matters.

Blair has successfully defended all types of federal cases, including drug crimes, tax fraud and evasion, white collar crimes, such as fraud and embezzlement, criminal conspiracy, extortion, and sexually related cases. In state court, Blair handles cases including, but not limited to, murder, assault and other violent crimes, robbery, theft, fraud, bribery and forgery, drugs and weapons charges, possession of child pornography, and expungement petitions for those seeking to remove prior convictions. Blair also handles licensing issues for doctors, dentists, and other professionals before state licensing boards. He regularly collaborates with Ms. Gallagher on Qui Tams, defense of healthcare fraud and improper coding claims, and on legally structuring medical practices and lease agreements to avoid scrutiny from state and federal authorities for Stark & AntiKickback violations.
